MAKING GREAT ADVERTISEMENT

GREAT ADVERTISING

Advertising is a part of marketing, it is a way to communicate the benefits of a product or service which ecourage audience to make a purchase.

WHAT IS GOOD ADVERTISING

What are the qualities of a good advertising. Many qualities of good ad, such as innovative, engaging, creative, perhaps affordable. I believe it is all that, but the one of the main characteristic of a good advertising is that it should be effective in so many levels. Effective in representing the brand, presenting the product, reaching or better yet hook the target market. Here some approachs you could use to make an effective ad.

Methods to achieve effective advertisement:
  • Simple but Powerful
Simple advertisement conveys simple but strong message.  Simple but Powerful Message would last. Also too much information will only make the look crowded and confusing.

as example look at these ad

Volkswagen: Think Small (1960)

Volvo Epic Split (2013)

  • Memorable or easily recalled
A brand should have a clear view of their target market, and more importantly know their target market needs, desire, lifestyle and issues. That is the only way a brand could make connection with the customer.

Take a look at Nike with "just do it" slogan.

Nike Just Do It Ad 1988

A little background story, Nike used to only produce shoes exclusively to marathon runners. Then, Nike used the fitness craze moment which was a hit at the time to win from its competitor Reebok. That is how the "Just Do It." campaign came about. Armed with that campaingn, it took Nike's sales from  $800 million in In 1988 to more than $9.2 billion by 1998. So what was the secret? As mentioned before, the key to sucess is to know your cusomer really well. Especially their issues. Because your product should be or must be the solution to that problem. Nike knows the excuses that people make when it comes to excercising. And "Just do it" is the shout out that people need on that moment to basically do it.

  • Up to date, Catchy, or Innovative
Keeping up with trends sometimes can be a good thing, unless it is contradicted with the Brand Value. Taking advantage of trends actually works like a charm. Another step is to intune with the social situation or movement, such as Equality. The best way is be TRENDING like the Metro Trains: Dumb Ways to Die (2012), a song that has garnered 187 million YouTube views since it debuted in 2012.

  • Hold All Attention and Entertaining
An ad is work of art. An entertaining ad is an ad that takes the audience in a journey or a ride through the storyline. By doing so the audience does not feel like their seeing an ad feels more like being leads into a new exciting adventure.

  • Funny
Humor is always bring people into a good place. Most of the time funny ads is catchy. These are the example of old advertisement which still stuck with me even after all these years.

DHL KOREA

  • Suggestive
Suggest or encourage customer to take an action now. It could be done through a message such as, "call now",  "find out more", "act now", limited offer like this ones

Act Now 2019

KFC every Tuesday

  • Personal Feeling
Most people will feel attachment to something that they hold dear in their heart. That is why it is a tricky to could be profitable when a brand could grow that attachment, personal feeling about their product in their cusomer's mind.

Take a look at this Coca Cola print ad when they hit Australia in 2011. Coca Cola attached most popular names in their can and bottle. You can even can customize your own personal names.
